Telemann Fasch Bach Graupner Concertos pour flûte à bec Trisschijn - CC72903

Tout est parti d’un concours radiophonique pour lequel Thomas Triesschjin enregistra voix par voix un sextuplet de Boismortier avec cinq flûtes et une basse continue. Il fut récompensé de son travail par ce bel enregistrement où son orchestre baroque – The Counterpoints – accompagne sa flûte à bec, instrument soliste du disque présenté. À travers la musique de ce CD, Triesschjin nous invite à partager l'histoire de quatre amis et estimés collègues (Telemann, Fasch, Graupner et Bach) auditionnant pour la place de cantor à l’église Saint Thomas de Leipzig. Étonnamment, Bach a obtenu le poste comme quatrième choix et y passa la majeure partie de sa carrière, composant nombre de chefs-d'œuvre. Triesschjin rend hommage à la fûte à bec, la rendant sympathique, belle et fabuleuse. Grâce aux compétences et à l’énergie fantastique des Counterpoints, qui croient en l'importance de jouer sur des instruments originaux ou sur les meilleures copies d'instruments de l'époque, un véritable contrepoint a pu émerger dans cet enregistrement. Ces musiciens nous donnent une performance passionnée, inspirée par les intentions originales des compositeurs, ce qui constitue une très agréable découverte musicale. (Mathieu Niezgoda)

After winning a Dutch radio prize, I thought of realising a long-cherished dream: recording music for solo recorder and orchestra, in particular the famous Ouverture Suite in A minor by Telemann. Taking this piece as a starting point and after doing some research, I stumbled upon the story of the four colleagues - Telemann, Fasch, Graupner and Bach - auditioning for the prestigious position of Thomascantor in Leipzig after the death of Johann Kuhnau in 1722. Through the music on this CD, I invite you to share in a unique story of four dear friends and esteemed colleagues auditioning for the position of cantor at St. Thomas that Bach surprisingly got as fourth (!) choice. This was the position in which he would spend most of his career, composing masterpieces one after another. (Thomas Triesschijn)
