Michal Bergson Concerto Symphonique Pour Piano Et Autres Œuvres Kubas-kruk Plowright Drygas Borowicz

Pianiste et compositeur, Michal Bergson (1820-1898) fait partie de cette confrérie de musiciens polonais qui a noué vers le milieu du XIXe des liens étroits avec le milieu musical français en multipliant les contributions communes. Si son legs musical est somme toute modeste, il suscite néanmoins la curiosité par son éclectisme. Dans cet album qui revendique la paternité d’un premier enregistrement mondial, les talents mélodiques de Bergson sont mis en lumière avec son principal opéra Luisa di Montfort (op. 82), composé en 1847. Outre une plaisante Introduction, Bergson s’affirme comme un maître capable de faire chanter la clarinette dans La scène et L’aria tirée du même opus. Le compositeur manie avec brio l’art de la mélodie. Son très gracieux rondo-valse Il ritorno pour soprano et orchestre, qui nécessite une grande aisance vocale, est d’une réjouissante musicalité. Les pièces pour piano de Bergson sont aussi très recommandables d’autant que Jonathan Plowright en donne une interprétation soignée. Les Mazurkas sont abordées avec recueillement et les Polonaises dessinées avec justesse. Pour compléter ce programme initiatique, le Concerto symphonique pour piano avec orchestre, aux accents romantiques, apporte beaucoup de plaisir à l’écoute et justifie l’entreprise de réhabilitation d’un artiste profondément attachant. We live in the age of musical discoveries. The history of Polish music, which for many years has been defined by the output of only the most outstanding composers, regains its full image – we meet forgotten, underestimated and sometimes even ignored artists (despite their great achievements for Polish culture). It is particularly the history of the Polish music composed in the time of Partitions that is being rewritten. For the history of European music, the 19th century is the time of the greatest changes – a bumpy road from late Classicism through the heyday and twilight of Romanticism, to the beginning of all modern trends. The present album was directly inspired by the discovery of the manuscript of the Concerto symphonique pour piano avec orchestre, op. 62 by Michal Bergson. In addition, soloist Jonathan Plowright made an original selection of Bergson’s solo piano pieces that complement the piano section of the album.
