 Avec cet album, la grande soprano japonaise Miho Kamiya et l'ensemble Aurata Fonte nous offrent une somptueuse anthologie de la musique vocale italienne du début du XVIIIème siècle. Epoque où les musiciens italiens, délaissant leur patrie, se faisaient bâtir des ponts d'or à Vienne, Londres, Madrid ou Lisbonne. Les six cantates ici présentées sont extraites d'un manuscrit retrouvé à Vienne et sans doute compilé vers 1710-1712. On y trouve des noms connus, comme ceux de Giovanni Bononcini (Modène, 1670 – Vienne, 1747), d'Antonio Caldara (Venise, 1670 – Vienne, 1736), qui se sont trouvé confrontés aux géants de leur temps, comme Fux ou Haendel. D'autres moins connus, comme ceux de Francesco Bartolomeo Conti (Florence, 1681 – Vienne, 1732), Emanuele d'Astorga (Augusta, Sicile, 1680 – Madrid, vers 1757) ou Andrea Stefano Fioré (Milan, 1686 – Turin, 1732). Recueillant l'héritage de Monterverdi, Cavalli et Alessandro Scarlatti, ils l'adaptèrent aux goûts locaux, et contribuèrent à faire mûrir les prémices du classicisme viennois, ouvrant la voie à Bach et Telemann. Aux éloquentes et émouvantes prestations de Miho Kamiya, chant agile et sensible, timbre cristallin, l'ensemble Aurata Fonte a adjoint fort opportunément des sinfonie pour violoncelle de Bononcini et Caldara. Un album de délices. (Marc Galand) Among the musical genres that were most appreciated and cultivated in Vienna in the early eighteenth century, one that stands out decidedly is the chamber cantata. The Italian cantatas, which were favourite compositions for the cultivated entertainment of the court, were abundantly circulated in manuscript form and collected in a great quantity of books that made chiefly between the eighteen-tens and the eighteen-forties. Now these cantatas are scattered in collections and libraries that have been the object of important musicological studies. The six cantatas presented in this recording are all drawn from the Mus.Hs.17567 manuscript in the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek of Vienna, and were quite probably all composed there around 1710-1712. It is an extremely interesting handwritten-copy collection formed of twelve compositions that are attributed with certainty to Giovanni Bononcini (three), Francesco Conti (three), Antonio Caldara (three), Emanuele d’Astorga (two), and Andrea Stefano Fioré (one). The two symphonies by Caldara (for solo cello) and Giovanni Bononcini are completing the listening of this cd by the Aurata Fonte ensemble, already protagonist of the recording of some great Italian Baroque music discovery (tc670202, tc611990).
