I Musici ensemble musicale was founded after the II WW in Rome and for several years it was known as I Musici of Rome. It was an ensemble of young people that, for the first time in the last century, had a modern approach to the baroque music. For that time this approach had an extraordinary value cause the musicology did not use to follow the original practise. Also Arturo Toscanini was entusiastic about the interpretations of I Musici. This box contains the best recordings that the ensemble dit for the British Columbia, unpreviously pubblished on CD. This is mainly italian repertoire, that will be recorded only partically by Philips during the following years.
