The twin brothers Daniel and Alexander Gurfinkel are likewise prolonging their family tradition in the third generation. In spite of their youth, they have already attracted international notice and are being mentioned in one breath along with a lineage of renowned clarinettists of mostly Russian Jewish descent who left their unmistakable imprint on the jazz era as well on as 20th-century classical music: Artie Shaw, Charles Neidich, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, and Giora Feidman, among others.
