They were honored with some of the worlds highest awards for vocal art, including Best Jazz Song of the Year (2008) and Best Folk/World Song of the Year (2013) at the CARA (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award) as well as two Ward Swingle Awards and three Golden Diplomas at “Vokal Total” (2006) in Graz, Austria. The music on this CD QUER BACH was originally developed as a soundtrack for the motion picture “MENSCH KOTSCHIE“ by Norbert Baumgarten. It was the ambition to arrange instrumental music by Johann Sebastian Bach for just the human voice. SLIXS has tried to approach these phenomenal compositions with the SLIXS-own distinct curiousness and delight in playing around, but all along with the respect for the great musical master as a permanent companion.
