La transposition moderne est indolore, elle permet cependant une lecture plus crue de cette folle journée portée par une direction d’acteur au cordeau : bravo donc à Martin Kusej d’avoir osé sans trahir sinon l’esprit de Mozart, du moins ce qui restait de celui de Beaumarchais dans l’encre de Da Ponte. Le vrai bonheur dispensé par cette soirée sera d’abord ailleurs : des Viennois poussés (un peu trop parfois) dans les cordes par Rafael Pichon qui a l’audace mozartienne du risque, des chanteurs surtout qui se prennent au jeu et raflent la mise. Superbe la Comtesse d’Adriana Gonzalez, fruitée façon Jurinac, divinement rogue le Comte d’André Schuen, mutine et très femme de grand caractère la Suzanne de Sabine Devielhe, idéal et d’un érotisme débordant le Cherubino de Lea Desandre, comprimari parfaits ( la Hammarström pour Marcellina, d’anthologie !) seul bémol le Figaro de Krzystof Baczyk qui joue trop les gros bras et donne trop de sa grosse voix alors même qu’il a l’instrument exact du "barbier". Le nozze di Figaro is Lorenzo Da Ponte’s and Mozart‘s first of their three jointly created operas about attempts at interpersonal relationships: a turbulent comedy with erotic entanglements, which was not a harmless comedy even in Mozart’s day. Director Martin Kušej moves the drama of love and jealousy to a mafia-like urban milieu where conflicts are fought out with pistols.
