Ensemble Ex Novo

This monographic CD, which originated from the splendid concert the Ex Novo Ensemble was so kind as to dedicate to me in November, 2016, combines some chamber pieces particularly dear to me which propose contrasting attitudes towards the ensemble, that is sound, and form, that is life through time of musical ideas, which I mentioned. In fact there are two ensembles with a great historical tradition, the string trio and the flute quartet, the most “classical” ensemble of the twentieth century, the quintet for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano, the so-called “ Pierrot quintet”, which however differs from to the evident, proudly flamboyant, presence of the accordion. From the formal point of view, there are the brief and very brief pieces that make up the Dieci pezzi for accordion and three stringed instruments, and the three fairly short movements of the Secondo trio d’archi, the two movements of Novus, decidedly longer, of Novus, the quintet and the single strongly narrative movement of Guernica.
