The monographic album with works by Zygmunt Krauze is the latest achievement of the Contemporary Ensemble Spóldzielnia Muzyczna, one of the most active contemporary music ensembles, present at many world festivals. The ensemble of instrumentalists, together with the composer, who not only sits at the piano, but also plays the role of a reciter, performs compositions saturated with meanings, emotions and symbols. There are quotes from folk melodies, typical of the artist, an out of tune piano, sonorism, punctualism, but also a beautiful simple melody played in unison. The composer is inspired by reality in its dark form, which is reflected by works written in the face of the war in Ukraine or by the string quartet entering a dialogue with the apocalyptic work by Messiaen, but shining with a hint of hope. On the other hand, we are dealing with folklore references, praise for the simplicity and naturalness of songs, which – not belonging to anyone – constitute the cornerstone of each community.
