Beyond styles and elements of style Sometimes, in the middle of a bright afternoon, I suddenly find myself in a state of dozing. Dream images arise. Brief, dense dream images, a world inside a world. It is impossible to remember them after I have awakened. The compositions by the trio Wintsch-Schütz-Hemingway seem related to these dreams, short and intense moments. These compositions create a space in which three musicians/dreamers meet, a place to celebrate the power of imagination, the bliss of playing... If there is a reason why trios are often preferred by musicians, then it must be because a trio allows and demands its members to interact intensely while guaranteeing a maximum of liberty at the same time. Beyond styles and elements of style (jazz on the drums, yes, Messiaen on the accordeon, Hendrix on the strings...) it is improvisation, agility and again imagination that merge in a beautiful musical moment.
