The album contains songs by three Slavic composers. Poland is represented by Kazimierz Wilkomirski, the most famous of them. The works of the Czech artist, Klement Slavický, deserving of the title of masterpieces, very rarely appear on Polish stages, which must have been influenced by the communist censorship that persecuted him for many years. The oeuvre of the Ukrainian composer, born at the end of the 19th century, Viktor Stepanovych Kosenko, became known only just after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Although each of the composers uses a slightly different style and individual harmony, listening to them together forces us to recognize the existence of a common idiom in Slavic countries’ music. In the interpretation of Hanna Maria Zajaczkiewicz, endowed with a sweet, lyrical, delicate soprano voice and honoured with numerous competition prizes, partnered by Zofia Antes on the piano, the widely unknown vocal miniatures reveal all their charm and potential. The album is complemented by three piano miniatures by Artur Malawski – in the role of a prelude introducing a reflective mood.
