Almost exactly ten years ago, the Quartet WHISPERINGS released its first CD. At that time, the drummer Bernard Trontin of The Young Gods was with the party. Now, Whisperings whispers further and develops a new sonic identity in the current formation in a playful way at the borders The special incentive for WHISPERINGS is the fact that all four musicians have their own history and orientation, different, but related. It is a meeting of four profiled improvising musicians, with Franziska Baumann from Berne, Michel Wintsch from Geneva, Lionel Friedli from Biel and Fred Frith from San Francisco California. The latter spends part of the year in Basel, where he directs the master of improvisation since 2011.The ensemble plays in the context of tonal unity and simultaneous stylistic openness, it celebrates the musical dialogue, dense, fiery and still fine knit.
