Walter Gieseking, piano

In the last years of his life Walter Gieseking realized for Columbia's Walter Legge a very large number of recordings, especially the monumental edition of the complete works for piano by Mozart, and fundamental was also the version he gave to the piano masterpieces of Debussy. However even Ravel, Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann gave way to great German pianist to produce disks that were historic since they first appeared. This edition is especially dedicated to Impromptues and Moments Musicaux by Schubert, of which we believe that Gieseking has given one of the interpretations really immortal in the history of the Romantic piano.
