Voytek Soko Sokolnicki Kosmos Sokolnicki Maliczowska Kostka - DUX1999 - Contemporain

Voytek Soko-Sokolnicki is an independent artist, a classically educated dramatic tenor, as well as a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to his operatic and philharmonic activities both in Poland and abroad, he develops concerts and performances combining sound, image and movement. Kosmos is another album in his output, fully original – the artist wrote both music and text; he also plays the role of vocalist and instrumentalist, playing the piano, saxophone and electronic instruments. Stylistically speaking, the pieces belong to the mainstream of pop music. These are delicate and subtle ballads with operatic vocals as a surprising element. The lyrics are an important factor too. In his compositions, Sokolnicki wants to share his thoughts on human existence, transience and the place of man in the world. The cosmos is conducive to such reflection, as it is a vast silence enabling contemplation; contemplation into which the artist also draws the listeners.
