Basic saxophone art It is very basic saxophone art what Urs Leimgruber shows on his second solo release: Far from monomaniac behaviour, full of absolute concentration to the elementary possibilities of his instrument from the noise of breathing and keys to full and rich sounds, from apparently playing around to almost obstinate perseverance in patterns and themes. For "Goletter" the words of Peter Rüedi, critic from Zurich, written about "Statement of an Antirider", Leimgruber's first solo album, are more valid than ever: That Urs Leimgruber does not use his instrument in an imperialistic way what means as an instrument or tool but as a partner who tells stories to the musician who gets them alive by his breathing.
