The piano repertoire of Franz Liszt includes both orchestral repertoire as well as repertoire with a rather intimate approach. The implementation of the chosen repertoire clarifies these differences as the composer may have intended. The artistic feelings of the performer and her orchestral perception are critical in determining the various differing degrees of orchestral musical expression applied on the piano. In this process the imagination of the pianist plays a crucial role. As a performer, one can try to implement the metaphorical value of the orchestration process on the piano in order to achieve a particular sound and to enrich the performance. This leads to a new sound image which is a sample of the unique vision of the performer.
