"The Gardener" takes its time and appreciates the established and unpretentious. The tunes make use of chamber music,traces of Duke Ellington, elements of impressionism, folk and modern jazz, but at the same time they always breath fresh air. The rare combination of dark glimmering classical viola and tenor saxophone emphasizes the unconventional character of thisorganic musical language. The mystery of becoming and passing away, and in addition to it, the figure of the gardener, areessential inspirations for the compositions. The music sounds as lyrically subtle as impulsive and is supported by the instinctiveinteraction of the Quintet, permeated by gentle humor.
