The clarinet trio ‘The Clarinotts’, consisting of Ernst Ottensamer, a clarinet soloist of the Vienna Philharmonic, and his sons Andreas and Daniel, was founded in 2005 to make the public at home and abroad more familiar with the literature for this very unusual instrumentation. It is a special concern of the musicians to include in their repertoire the many secondary instruments to the clarinet, such as basset horn, bass clarinet and E flat clarinet. Besides less known works from three centuries, this CD also presents me lo- dies from Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’ and Johan Strauss’ ‘Fledermaus’.
