The chamber group “GliArchiEnsemble” is made up of eleven instrumentalists: three first violins, three second violins, two violas, two cellos and one double-bass. Their collaboration with great soloists and conductors (Boris Belkin, Günter Neuhold, George Pehlivanian, Hubert Soudant, etc.) and the experience accrued on the musical scene of national and international relevance, have given the Ensemble the opportunity to refine their ever growing repertoire to a very high level. This CD is dedicated to XIX century North European composers; this repertoire needs a very powerful and unique sound, a charcteristic which identifies GliArchiEnsemble’s style and make this string orchestra recall the tradition of the german Chamber orchestras. The tracks bring us back in the time while evoking images of the landscape of Northern Europe : Andante Festivo by Jean Sibelius (1938), Two Melodies Op. 53 by Edvard Grieg (1891), Little Suite Op. 1 by Carl August Nielsen (1888) and the famous Souvenir de Florence Op. 70 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1892), homage to Florence and Italy.
