The Band of the royal Corps of Signal
Major Keith R.R. Boulding, direction

The Band of The Royal Corps of Signals is one of the twelve Major Staff Bands of the Army and is well known throughout the British Isles and Europe. It frequently appears in programmes for the BBC and at Band venues in the various resorts. The Band regularly carries out overseas tours, visiting Units of the Corps. Sixty-five musicians comprise the Band, and together form the many musical combinations required by the modern Services. Major Keith R.R. Boulding LRAM, ARCM, BBCM psm was appointed Director of Music to the Royal Corps of Signals in 1969. He was, from 1950, the Bandmaster of The Devonshire Regiment. In 1962 he took up the appointment as first Staff Bandmaster to the newly formed Junior Guardsman’s Company of the Brigade of Guards (as it was then known). Commissioned in 1963, he took musical charge of the Rhine Staff Band of the Royal Tank Regiment until receiving his present appointment. Keith Boulding was born in 1925 and joined the Royal Army Medical Corps in 1939. He became Bandmaster in 1950 and was posted firstly to the Devonshire Regiment, then to the Devonshire and Dorsetshire Regiment in 1958, and then to the Guards Depot in 1962. In 1963 he received a commission and was assigned to the Royal Tank Regiment and later the Royal Signals. He retired from the army in 1982 was the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
