The album contains recordings of seven works by composers representing the Silesian school, musical heirs of Boleslaw Woytowicz and Boleslaw Szabelski. The compositions were created in the years 1952–2022, so they neatly span a period of 70 years. They are characterized by a very diverse character – from modernist pieces by Józef Swider, containing elements of jazz and folklore inspirations, to sonoristic, aleatoric solo flute works using new performance techniques. Kornelia Nowak is a flautist performing both solo and in chamber music ensembles, lecturer at the Academy of Music in Katowice. On the album, she is partnered by young, but already recognized musicians, also associated with Silesia. The artist has performed numerous world premieres, and the recordings of two works dedicated to her have been included on this album. The CD shows all the sonic possibilities of the flute, its changing timbre and sonoristic effects, also in symbiosis with other instruments.
