Scelsi Putignano Anzaghi Œuvres Pour Piano Caruso - Tc930001 - Contemporary - by Tactus

The concert project entitled “In the Sphere of Sound as Crossroad of Cultures” wants to draw a semantic and aesthetic musical path based on the investiga - tion of timbres carried out by the Italian contempo - rary composers from Giacinto Scelsi (1905-1988) to Davide Anzaghi (1936) and Biagio Putignano (1960). Recalling the concept of sound in its “rotundity”, the concert program recorded in this CD shows the in - terweaving of different musical perspectives in order to interpret the idea of sound as “a crossroad of cul - tures”, i.e. a meeting point of diverse traditions and timbres. This CD is the product of the live recording concert held on 11th December 2014 at the Museo Casa Scelsi in Rome and broadcasted live by Radio CEMAT as part of the events organized by the Isabel - la Scelsi Foundation in collaboration with the Italian Society of Contemporary Music (SIMC). The CD is a world premiere of two works by the Italian compo - sers Davide Anzaghi and Biagio Putignano. Moreover this live recording stands out by the fact that it was performed on the historic Giacinto Scelsi’s Bechstein piano and on his own percussion instruments, he had purchased during his travels abroad.
