Marek Domanski once again takes the listener to the world of popular and jazz music. The album presents 17 timeless standards arranged for solo piano. Compositions by Burt Bacharach, George Gershwin, Krzysztof Komeda and many other artists associated with popular music – they are widely popular and there are countless vocal and instrumental versions of them. Marek Domanski, winner of the second prize in the Warsaw Competition for Popular Music Pianists and Hammond Organ Players, puts them on the pedestal of the highest values, recalling Woody Allen, in whose films music plays an important role; it provides the background, but is also a carrier of cultural changes. The standards performed by the pianist take on the character of a virtuoso show thanks to the dense texture, fast melodic narrative and cascade harmonic modifications.
