ROJO! A game develops which gets its identity only by itself. ROJO!, formed by the Swiss Musicians Markus Eichenberger, Fredi Lüscher, Alfred Zimmerlin and the spanish Poet, Object-Artist and Performer Bartolome Ferrando, moves in the marginal zone between word and sound and sounds out the material quality of poetry and music. As a performer Ferrando is meticulously prepared. His performance follows an exact schedule and has little to do with improvisation. But his presentations cross the borders between the eye, the ear and even other senses and are therefore open to free sounds and noises to join in. Ferrando speaks, howls, whispers, prays in his search for traces of the archaic sound and thus approaches the nature of the musicians. They are, free of the usual connotations, on their way in the border-area of music and instrument. That's how with ROJO! a game develops which gets its identity only by itself.
