Founded in february of 2012, the Philipp Jagschitz Trio presents a program containing original tunes by the band members as well as on-stage improvisations. Their music covers a broad spectrum, ranging from modern jazz and conventional tunes to modal and free excursions and odd meter grooves. Matthias Pichler on bass and his brother Andreas Pichler on drums - both known for their collaboration with Wolfgang Muthspiel - are a unique rhythm section and add something special to every track. The instrumentation of piano, bass and drums is the canvas for the application of a palette of colors, allowing the band to paint a contemporary picture of this classic format.
