April 2016 will see the release of Nicole Durrer’s first CD “LIALAI”, which was recorded with guitarist Adrian Egli, double bassist Marc Jenny and drummer Lukas Meier. Nicole Durrer mainly plays her own material that draws from the traditional world of jazz – pleasantly diverse and with a focus on the warm and melancholy voice of the singer. Every now and again, she breaks the mould of the jazz tradition to wallow in songs and conquer new ground with wordless compositions. The soundscape thrives on the intimate atmosphere created by the sober comping of the rhythm section, minimalist guitar play and expressive vocals.
