New York - Vorarlberg - Zürich - BerlinPeter Madsen has played with them all: Stan Getz, Joe Lovano, Kenny Garrett, Chris Potter, Benny Golson, Don Cherry orDewey Redman have been accompanied by the pianist from New York during his career. In addition, he has been the teacherand mentor of David Helbock for more than ten years. Since then, Helbock has also performed on all continents. He wasawarded the Public Prize at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition in 2010 and in 2011 he won the Outstanding ArtistAward for having composed a piece of music every day for one year! Now these outstanding artists perform together in a band:Mistura, the Portuguese word for mixture, is the name and program of the quartet. Electronic sounds meet acoustic percussioninstruments, complex rhythms encounter free improvisation. The unusual instrumentation as well as the original and distinctivecompositions of the two pianists is what makes the sound of this band unmistakable.
