The name of this quartet is not entirely programmatical. It's not the personal or musical harmony that'smissing, but Maurus Twerenbold's new project dispenses with a harmony instrument which sets theharmonic bottom in a jazz historical comprehension. But this is exactly the quality of this band: trombone, tenorsax/bass clarinet, double bass and drums build a particular acoustic sound that is wild andenergetic on one side but also spherical and harmonious on the other side. Maurus Twerenbold's compositions are versatile: there are fugal pieces that remind of great classicalcomposers or wild melodies referring to Frank Zappa, everything kept in a modern jazzy manner that thefour of them bring to a harmonious "non harmonic" overall picture. There are bigband-style-pieces with a lotof arrangement but also pieces that give the musicans a lot of freedom. The special technical and musicalversatility of the musicians allows the band to develop all the possibilities of this line-up: And there areendless possibilties!
