With the performance of "EARTH" the MARTIN STREULE JAZZ ORCHESTRA will carry on, this year, the cycle of concerts "THE FOUR ELEMENTS" started two years ago. Contrary to "WATER" with its great symphonic sound patterns, the suite "EARTH" is dominated by smaller soundscapes of associative character, interacting within the six scenes. The first part of the program represents the physical properties of the blue planet. Starting with a musical big bang, the rotation of earth resounds in a heavy groove showing bizarre relations to blues, followed by recitative and aria, having appearances of landscapes floating on scene, when suddenly unforeseen natural forces as incoherent themes impact with violence and so give way to renewal. The second part of the performance is dedicated to various kinds of existence earth is bringing forth. Life in its absolutely original existence appears in pulsating groovy-percussion melodies offering surprising turns. It is a ballade, performed by a quintet of warm deep instruments, born by the soft sound of the orchestra, which attributes to the "mother of all elements" the most peaceful minutes of the evening. A wild and ecstatic dance-music in rough groove-patchwork talking about "gods and rituals" will end up the programme and release the EARTH-ly audience to their ordinary life on earth.
