The Piano Duo with Marco Netzband and Alexander Wienand presents subtle arranged jazzstandards and originals. While extending jazz classics such as Caravan, Hymn to Freedom or Take Five tastefully, the two pianists film by film rediscover those well known pieces. The architectures arising this way often exceed the original formal constructions by far. In conjunction with sanguine improvised parts and imaginative Originals this concept provides a singular musical experience in the current jazzscene. Marco Netzband received the Cultural Award of the city of Würzburg to honour his attainments as a pianist, composer, arranger and college teacher. Alexander Wienand received the Federal State of Bavaria Performing Arts Grant.
