Marcin Kopczynski was born in Inowroclaw. In 1998 he received his diploma in the art of composing at the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz and in music theory. In 2010 he received his doctorate in the same fields. Currently an associate professor at his Alma Matter. He has received a Ministry of Art and Culture scholarship twice. In 1997 received the award of the president of Inowroclaw. In 2008 his In Te Domine speravi (1996) made it to the finals of the New London Choir Choral Composition Prize. Author of many pieces for a diverse range of groups. His works and arrangements were performed in Poland and abroad during various festivals and competitions such as: Festival Coral de Turon, Festival Internacional de Musica de Cantabria (Spain), International Music Choir Competition in Vilnius (Lithuania), Polish Music Festival in Gyor (Hungary), Europe Month in Saudi Arabia 2016, 12th International Music Festival Artu Duo Prague (Czech Republic). His works were arranged, performed and recorded, amongst others, by: Malgorzata Ratajczak, Ingrid Gapova, Krzysztof Meisinger, Radoslaw Sobczak, Agnieszka Duczmal, Jerzy Salwarowski, Jan Lukaszewski, Wlodziemierz Siedlik, Zygmunt Rychert, Mieczyslaw Nowakowski, Jerzy Kosek, Miroslaw Skoryk, and Piotr Wajrak.
