A meditation in the dark! The "Scenografia Lucendro" is part of the Gotthard-Project, a project that meanwhile has occupied the artist Jean Odermatt for over 10 years. Every year in September, a unique scenic event takes place. Around the dam Lucendro near the hospice of the Gotthard pass, the elements of theatre, music, fire, wind and water are united. Situated in the unbelievingly archaic environment of the Gotthard, the staging takes as its theme the process of European civilisation, while emphasising one specific element. every year. One part of the "Scenografia Lucendro" is approached by the aspect of "going to listen". As a place of perception, the hollow spaces of the Lucendro dam resemble a cathedral. The equally barren face and history of its chambers provide an ideal space for reinforcing lost dreams and memories. Moving through the chambers - a concept of seven passages from the age of Trecento (14th century) to the Novecento (20th century) - becomes a process of remembering, leading to the places where images lay hidden and a world of names still echo - a kind of chamber drama. Light, language and sound are its actors. The saxophone player Werner Lüdi was invited by Jean Odermatt to create the musical part. Lucendro, Lüdi's solo CD, is the result of this intense collaboration. Recorded deep inside the cool and damp chambers of the Lucendro dam, the saxophone faces the expanding space and its echo!
