Points Septet

Luboš Soukup, the saxophonist and one of leading figures of contemporary Czech jazz, has reunited his band “Points” and has enlarged it to a septet. The group is composed of the best Czech horn and sax players (the leader himself, Marcel Bárta and Oskar Török from the award winning Vertigo, Petr Kalfus and Jan Jirucha) backed up by a brilliant rhythm duo (Tomáš Hobzek and the legendary bassist Jaromír Honzák). This exceptional album made of Soukup´s own compositions contains deep, progressive and intimate music on the border of contemporary classical music and free improvisation. The author himself has labeled it as a “universe of sounds”.
