Celestial improvisation. "Legfek" is celestial improvisation. Not to be taken literally, of course in this music everything still is quite earthly with 2 energetic saxophones and a very electric bass. Nevertheless, it breathes with such ease that listeners just might start hovering. So there is no other term that comes closer to what this trio from the Swiss middle lands is up to. "Legfek" is improvisation that doesn't itch. "Legfek" is clarity, transparency, grooves and power, unexpected silence, poetry, surprising changes and soft landings. But then, this is no coincidence. Take, for instance, Urs Blöchlinger (1954), a master of improvisation. His musical career has lead him through a large number of bands and projects like "Jerry Dental Kollekdoof", "Neurotica", "Cadavre Exquis", "Kutteldaddeldu" plus numerous theatre projects and solo performances. Blöchlinger's work is marked by an unique attitude to music constantly in search for new sound expressions and emotions. Then Peter Landis (1957), who enjoyed classical education as a flutist. For ten years he collaborated with bass player Mark Albisser. Together they worked on music for particular situations i.e. Dark Room Music which was performed in complete darkness. And last, but not least, bassist Jan Schlegel (1964) is one of Switzerland's most wanted electric bass players. Preferably he moves between jazz, rock, improvisation and theatre. So "Legfek" combines a love these three musicians share: the love for the dramatic element. In fact "Legfek" tells stories which happen somewhere between heaven and earth. You just have to listen very carefully.
