Jazz standards have been played for more than half a century in a myriad of variations up to the limits of being recognisable. Since the development of jazz rock and fusion in the 80s and 90s, traditional jazz has been instrumented more daringly thanever before: distorted guitar sounds and drumming including backbeat are allowed!Laszlo Spiro, an innovative guitar player and arranger and Orlando Ribar, one of the busiest and technically most brilliant drummers of Switzerland, used the traditional jazz standards in order to arrange and instrument these into their own harmonic and rhythmic language, leading to the emergence of the CD "Stand-Arts" - an absolute must!
