The Klaus Heidenreich Quartet is a modern group and draws upon a broad musical background. Settled between the jazz tradition and its more modern variants, the music is marked by an extreme sensitivity which the musicians mutually share for each other. Their debut CD "Travel Notes" appeared in the "JAZZthing-NextGeneration" series on Double Moon Records in the spring of 2011. The second album "Man On Wire" is to be released in July 2013 on Unit Records.The Klaus Heidenreich Quartet is made up of newcomers in the young German jazz scene. During the last several years, these four musicians have caused a veritable stir throughout the republic so that their names are no longer just insider's tips amongst usually well-informed circles. They are multiple award winners (WDR Jazz Prize, Jazz Echo, Horst&Gretl Will Scholarship) and despite their young age, lecturers and professors at conservatories in Cologne, Essen, Mainz and Hannover. Klaus Heidenreich has been a trombonist with the NDR Big Band since 2008.
