"Perceptions" documents the meeting of two bands that have had a significant influence on me and the world of my music in recent years. Successfully feeling his way into the playing styles of both my quartet and the NDR Big Band, the outstanding New York jazz trumpeter and composer Tim Hagans proved the ideal partner for this project. His arrangements take the music of "Man On Wire" to another level and make it appear from a new perspective. The music, inspired by the high-wire walk of the French high-wire artist Philippe Petit, appears from a new perspective and lets both "Klaus Heidenreich Quartet" and NDR Bigband have their say.
