Exactly two years have passed since the debut "romance".With the new release "secrets", kaama has worked out another very individual, powerful and touching masterpiece. All songs are composed by the leader of the band Katja Mair. Words and music are always in harmony and convince with sincere statements. Clear musical ideas inspired of different styles such as ambient, trip hop, d'n'b and also free jazz are the concept. Clear structures in the songs are enriched with open parts.Wonderful melodic lines in colorful harmonys increased with free and open structures. The five musicians exactly know to fill the musical freedom with exciting interplay. Equal to the sound, this freedom is also used in the formal structure. It may happen, that a song ends in a totally different mood than it began. The interweaving play of the two basses is unusual and charming, and this combination with the drum is always a full, tight or sometimes even lively groove. The excellent guitar playing adds richness and color, whether in a subtile accompaniment or in solo parts bursting with energy. It's always convincing with its extraordinary presence. In the middle of this woven sound is the voice - sometimes gently bewitching, sometimes powerfully demanding, but always pleasent voice. It is the enormous emotion in this music that touches in an intimate way. The last week in october (22.10.-29.10. 2005) kaama will be touring in Switzerland and present the new songs live on stage.
