This album provides a multifaceted insight into the compositional work of the composer Jürgen Golle from Zwickau, Germany. Spanning works from over four decades, it offers a cross-section of his compositional oeuvre. Jürgen Golle, who was a university lecturer for many years in addition to his compositional activity, sees the core of his work primarily in smaller forms, especially vocal music. This is suitably reflected in the intimacy of the variable duo formations that characterize this album. The Calliope Duo, consisting of Artashes Stamboltsyan on violin and Sarah Stamboltsyan on piano, presents Golle's Twelve Variations on "Greensleeves". Soprano Andrea Chudak interprets with Sarah Stamboltsyan on piano two major song cycles by Golle, based on texts by Wolfgang Borchert and Wilhelm Busch, as well as a song cycle based on texts by Jens Gerlach. In Golle's setting of an old Armenian poem Andrea Chudak is accompanied by Maria-Anja Hübenthal on harp.
