The "julius trio" combines Berlin musicians Julius Heise (vibraphone), Bernhard Meyer (bass) and Martin Krümmling (drums).On its firstling "now", released on swiss label Unit Records, it presents six trio tunes dedicated to playfulness: All tracks are firsttakes, were composed the day before recording and recorded without even rehearsing. At the beginning, middle and end of thealbum you find vibraphone improvisations by the band leader Julius Heise, as the logical peak of the music-without-rehearsing-idea. All pieces contain the freshness of search and playing-only-for-the-moment. They are not about presenting practicedprocesses, but the spontaneous process itself - what has always been the core of Jazz. Nevertheless the music of "julius trio"is very harmonic, allows repetitions and thus permits all upcoming musical ideas to happen - including beautiful melodies,clouds of sound and meditative grooves. Here Jazz is alive!
