Joerg Mikula, known as a versatile drummer for Sandy Lopicic Orkestar, Ulrich Drechsler, Timna Brauer-Elias Meiri, Tord Gustavsen, Özlem Bulut, Donauwellenreiter and others, is presenting a unique project for solo-drumset.With the cd "Drumsongs" Mikula is exploring song formats.Using the multiple sonic possibilities of a small jazz drumkit he drew inspiration from singer songwriters like Fink, Mumford&Sons as well as from moroccan gnawa music.The result are nine compositions that feature the melodic side of the drums.
