Jeroen van Vliet, dans le livret de « Thin Air »: «En 2008, après avoir eu l'honneur d'accepter la session de Composition du North Sea Jazz Festival et du Music Center Pays-Bas (MCN), j'ai choisi d'écrire pour un sextet composé de musiciens que j’admire, avec qui j'avais déjà collaboré par le passé. Outre Frans et Pascal avec qui nous avions enregistré « The Poet & Other Tales » en 2007, Afra était le choix parfait, tant aux percussions que pour ses sons et ses samples. J'ai invité Erwin, avec qui j'avais déjà enregistré plusieurs albums, pour son lyrisme, ses belles idées et le son qui le caractèrise. Quand j'ai entendu Jörg jouer, j'ai immédiatement été accroché par sa créativité, et je lui ai demandé de rejoindre la formation qui s’appelle désormais Sikeda (prononcé SEE - KAY-DAH), un mot vide de sens, que j’ai simplement choisi pour sa sonorité. Jerœn van Vliet in the linernotes of Thin Air: "In 2008 I was honoured to accept the Composition Assignment of the North Sea Jazz Festival and Music Center Netherlands (MCN). I chose to write for a sextet consisting of musicians with whom I had previously worked on different occassions and whom I admire. Besides the trio with Frans and Pascal that recorded The Pœt & Other Tales in 2007, Afra was the perfect match, both on percussion and with his sounds and samples. I asked Erwin, with whom I had recorded several albums before, for his lyricism and beautiful ideas and sound. When I heard Jörg I was instantly hooked by his creative playing, so I asked him to join. The band is now called Sikeda (pronounced SEE - KAY- DAH), a word without meaning, and chosen simply for its sound. Enjoy the ride. "
