This album is published on the 100th anniversary of Jan Novák’s birth (1921–1984). His daughters Clara Nováková, Dora Nováková and his wife Eliška Nováková have devoted themselves to popularizing the rich, although still little known, output of the Czech composer. In the anniversary year, Polish pianist Marcin Kasprzyk presents an extremely interesting cross-section of chamber music by Jan Novák, recorded together with pianist Michal Rot, cellist Wojciech Bafeltowski, flautist Jagoda Pietrusiak-Kasprzyk and soprano Renata Johnson-Wojtowicz. The works featured on the album expose the broad horizons and interests of the composer born in Nová Ríše, presenting the listeners with his rich and varied compositional language.
