Musicians and groups always need good bass players. Jakob Kühnemann was always there when he was needed as a bass player, and has traveled a great deal around the world with Hayden Chisholm, Jiggs Whigham, and Bill Dobbins, andon Tours and Festivals in Arras, Paris, Beirut, Greece, Estonia, Bosnia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Cambodia. But good bassplayers often have their own music in mind. The music Jakob Kühnemann had in mind needed some time to ripen. Fortunatelyhe allowed the music the time it required to develop. It needed time to find the necessary calmness, and to gather all thestories with all the contradictions that the music needs. Stories andcontradictions need time to unfold. Contrejour" means "back light". Back light causes, when looking into it, the impression ofglaring into darkness. It is a challenge not to squint one's eyes or to turn one's back.
