Cuéntame (Tell me) places its emphasis on the spherical, lingering timbre of the vibraphone. In varying instrumentations, amusical cross-over is produced which, based on Jazz and influenced by a variety of musical styles, is continuously telling newstories. In this chamber-music, almost intimate atmosphere, the many aspects of the sound and play spectrum of the vibraphone unfolds to the listener.The songs in "Cuéntame" are all self-contained tales of extreme harmonic and melodiccontrast, steeped in jazz, classical styles, world music, and free improvisation, taking the listener away to abundant worlds of sound and emotion.The listener feels fully immersed here into a multi-layered sound narrative. At the same time, the interactionbetween different instruments in continuous dialog with the vibraphone, as well as the participation of various outstandinginstrumentalists makes the listener witness, and be part of a cross-border musical and cultural exchange. All of the musiciansinvolved are multi-instrumentalists.
