During his long creative career, Ivan Fedele hasoften engaged with the perceptual mechanismsinherent in ancient forms as archetypes to bereinterpreted in modern forms. The works for solocello collected in this album were inspired, forinstance, by the Baroque form of the suite as analternation of contrasting movements, each basedon a single thematic idea and on the stylization ofa dance. In the long and exemplary compositionalcareer of Ivan Fedele, the cello has always been aspecial focus of attention, as attested by hisnumerous solo pieces, often born of encounterswith brilliant instrumentalists, such as MicheleMarco Rossi, the soloist of this recording.
