Warning, here comes the music! After two CDs, the "Interkantonale Blasabfuhr" still shows no sign of taking back their usual interlinking of jazz, blues, classic, Swiss folklore and now also techno. However, their apporach has changed a bit: Instead of the witty humour and scurile comic of their last CD "Zwei" (UTR 4044 - sold out!) a subtile form of irony and a good deal of seriousness has taken its place. Switzerland's oldest (formed in 1987!) jazz brass band now reveals all of its musical competence. The arrangements are more complex, the voices - "Blasabfuhr" has taken to singing as well - both instrumental and human, are more refined and intricate, the solis more virtuous. 17 tunes long, a cross-country trip through a musical cosmos that might be described as imaginative folklore. And whoever listens his way to "Juuz Two" knows for sure that "Blasabfuhr" has remained true to its philosophy. The message isn't:"Warning, this is art!" but "Warning, here comes music!" Or, as a conclusion: Art that first enjoys. Yes, it still exists, this lightfooted way of playing where capability is paired with accomplishment. Listen for yourself!
