It was in 2009 that pianist Felix Hauptmann, drummer Fabian Künzer and double bass player Conrad Noll started their musicalwork together. Only two years later, in 2011, the band - by then known as HNK Trio, the name being a combination of theinitials of their surnames - took part in the German Jazz contest "Jugend Jazzt". With success: Honored with the studio award by the radio station "Deutschlandfunk", in the same year and under the management of jazz pianist Hubert Nuss, the threeyoung musicians recorded their first CD "First Steps".For their new CD project, the HNK trio decided to work together with aclose friend and highly appreciated musician: Saxophone player Florian Boos, currently student of the "Folkwang Universitätder Künste", is the winner of several jazz awards, amongst others of the "Folkwang award". Personally as well as musically,the four musicians have been acquainted with each other for a long time and their high respect for each other allows them toencounter on the same level.Their new album "HNK Trio feat. Florian Boos", recorded in the "Saarland Rundfunk" in 2014,provides an excerpt of the four musicians' current repertoire.
