Heima originated from Olivier Picon, Vincent Flückiger and their mutual desire to perform fusion-jazz together during their common studies in Basel, Switzerland. Since 2010 they gathered to combine the rock music background finger-style sensibility of Vincent Flückiger to Olivier Picon's acoustic jazz culture and classical training.Heima fuses a common attachment to the pop-song form with jazz-inherited improvised solos and refined arrangements involving equaly pure acoustic instruments and rich electronic sounds. At the heart of the matter is the golden rule of celebrating the melodic quality and harmonic clarity of the songs.
