GUINEA PIG - the band formed around Zurich-born bassist Andreas Zitz is a quartet with an extraordinary instrumentation. The musicians Bernhard Bamert trb, Thomas Lüthi ts, Andreas Zitz b and Tobias Friedli dr are conjunct through their passion for smart Jazz. With anarchistic rhythm, spherical sounds and at times folkloristic appearing melodies, the band transforms its name Guinea Pig - a rather derogatory word for experimental animals - into music.In a co-production with Schweizer Radio DRS the group recorded its debut feature in November. The album contains ten original compositions which reflect the nature of this band.
